Purpose and legal basis of processing personal data

The purpose of processing personal data in this data file is to deliver publications and newsletters to the natural and legal persons who have subscribed to them. The processing is based on Article 6, Section (a) of the General Data Protection Regulation, “the data subject has given consent to the processing of his or her personal data”.

Recipients of personal data

The European Migration Network is the controller of the newsletter service. The newsletter data file is located in the Mailchimp newsletter service in the United States. Mailchimp adheres to the Privacy Shield arrangement between the EU and the United States, which regulates the collection, use and storage of personal data by US companies in the European Union Member States.

Transfer of data outside the EU and the EEA

The e-mail details of the newsletter subscribers are transferred to the Mailchimp newsletter service, the server of which is located in the United States. Mailchimp belongs to the Privacy Shield arrangement(siirryt toiseen palveluun) between the EU and the United States.

Storage periods of personal data

The data about the persons in the data file are updated on the basis of the persons’ own notifications and requests. and personal data are stored for the duration of the subscriber’s consent, in other words, personal data are erased on the subscriber’s request.

Right of access to personal data

You have the right to receive a confirmation from the controller that your personal data are or are not processed, and if your personal data are processed, you have the right of access to the personal data. You have the right to receive access to the stored and processed personal data by sending an information request to the representative of the controller specified in this policy or via e-mail to emn@migri.fi.

Right to rectification or completion

JIf you notice that your data are incomplete or inaccurate, you can request their rectification. In that case, we ask you to specify the data that are inaccurate, explain why they are inaccurate and how they should be rectified, or tell us which data should be completed and how.
